Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you pick up your rental car and start your journey at a relaxed pace. Depending on your arrival time, you may already drive a short distance east or stay nearby before your South Africa adventure truly begins.

Today you travel into Mpumalanga and reach the famous Panorama Route. Along the way and in the afternoon, you can stop at scenic viewpoints and impressive natural formations that make this region so unique.

Explore the Panorama Route
This day is dedicated to the highlights of the Panorama Route, including views over the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, waterfalls and sweeping views across the Lowveld. In the afternoon, you continue towards Kruger National Park.

Today marks your first major safari experience. In Kruger National Park, you head out in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and, with some luck, the Big Five.

You leave Kruger National Park and travel south towards Eswatini, a small kingdom known for its rich culture and varied landscapes.

Eswatini – Hluhluwe-iMfolozi
You return to South Africa and continue to KwaZulu-Natal. Your destination is Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, one of the oldest conservation areas in Africa and known for its rhino population.

Safari in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi
Today you go on safari in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi. The rolling hills and dense vegetation offer a different experience compared to Kruger. With luck, you may spot rhinos, elephants, buffalo and many other animals.

You follow the coastline south to Durban, a vibrant city known for its warm climate, long beaches and a unique mix of African and Indian influences.

Today begins one of the most untouched sections of your journey. You travel along the coast towards the Wild Coast, where wide beaches, rolling hills and traditional villages await.

You continue along the coast into the Eastern Cape. The landscape gradually becomes more open and dry as you approach Addo Elephant National Park.

Today you explore Addo Elephant National Park, famous for its large elephant herds. In addition, you may spot buffalo, lions, zebras and many other species.

Addo – Tsitsikamma – Plettenberg Bay
You continue along the coast and reach the Garden Route. A stop at Tsitsikamma National Park is worthwhile, with its forests, gorges and spectacular ocean views. In the afternoon, you arrive in Plettenberg Bay.

Garden Route experience
Today is dedicated to the Garden Route. Visit Knysna, explore Robberg Nature Reserve, enjoy the beaches of Plettenberg Bay or, depending on the season, take a boat trip for whale or dolphin watching.

Plettenberg Bay – Oudtshoorn
Crossing the Outeniqua Pass, you leave the coast and enter the Little Karoo. The landscape becomes drier and more expansive as you reach Oudtshoorn, known as the centre of ostrich farming.

Spend the day exploring Oudtshoorn and its surroundings. Visit the impressive Cango Caves, discover the wide landscapes of the Little Karoo or join an optional meerkat tour.

Oudtshoorn – Hermanus
Today you travel through rural landscapes and wide valleys towards the southwest. Hermanus awaits with a dramatic coastline and, depending on the season, excellent whale watching opportunities.

You leave the coast and head to the wine regions around Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. The next impressions are shaped by vineyards, historic towns and enjoyable culinary experiences.

Before reaching Cape Town, there is time for a relaxed morning in the Winelands. Depending on your arrival time, you can already explore the Waterfront or enjoy views of Table Mountain.

To conclude your journey, you explore Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula. Highlights such as the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Boulders Beach and Table Mountain provide a perfect finale.
